Car Day

Charles was done running around base, so we dropped him off at work and got the car today. Yeah! After a brief time puddle jumping (it was raining today) we headed off to get some chores done.

We got to the store, and I was able to stock up on some food. It felt great to actually cook our dinner tonight, and not have to eat out again. I know it sounds funny, but I was getting so tired of eating out. These are awesome carts we have at the commissary. Robynn loves them. I went up and down each row looking at everything the store had. We found some great stuff. Organic honey, maple syrup, jam, peanut butter, bread, Ketchup , mustered, beans,  etc. I felt much better after being able to find so many staples that had great ingredients. Then we took a trip to see our cat. Topaz was so happy to see us again. Each time we walk in it's like she smiles. I can't wait till we can pick her up, and take her home with us.

We even checked out the base thrift shop. We found some cute dresses for Robynn and some new bed time books. Then we went to the Family Readiness center. Robynn discovered these magnetic stacking panes and loves them. I'm going to have to track them down and mail order them I think. I sat there for 40min today watching her have a ball building. She wants me to take her back again! It seems it has become part of our routine to go there explicitly, so she can play with these. The staff seems tolerant/understanding to the fact that we are in the middle of a move, and still don't have all her toys. Then we went to the pool. Yes, you heard me right. We went swimming in the rain. They have a lot of rain here, but lightening and thunder harldy ever. As long as there is no lighting or thunder, the toddler pool remains open during the summer even if it's raining. I figured we were going to be wet anyway, and it's warm even when it's raining, so why not swim. The poor lifeguards huddled under a roof watching us so they would not get wet, but Robynn and I had a ball.
