Tears were shed the last few days before our departure. It
was really hard to say, “Goodbye” to my family. I cried as I left my sister’s
place, saying goodbye to her. I cried again when I said “Goodbye” to my
parents. Robynn did not see my tears,
but I knew she was sad as well. We talked together sharing about how we felt
about the move. She said it the best, “I’m really going to miss everyone Mommy.”
I told her I felt the same way.
We got off to a bumpy start Tuesday morning. At 3am, the shuttle
that was supposed to arrive to take us to the airport did not show up. Twenty
minutes past there due time, and they still had not arrived. Phone calls to
them were un-answered, and their message box was full. So I called my parents, and
they came to our rescue once again. It is only because of their help that we
arrived to get our Cat checked in with two minutes to spare. We made our plane
as well just with a few minutes to spare. Without their help that day would
have been really hard. Needless to say, that shuttle service got an ear full
when they finally called, as we were boarding the plane. After that things went smooth. Robynn had a
great time on her first plane flight. She watched as we took off with great excitement,
and was an angle the whole flight. When we arrived to our destination, Uncle
Chris met up with us. He lives near the Navy Station where we will be taking
off to fly to the Azores, which is great because that means we can visit him!
Charles and Chris went off in his truck, to get us a rental car, and Robynn and
I sat in the airport to wait for their return. We read books, and had fun
watching people get their luggage in baggage claim.
We’ve been here for a few days, but unfortunately the internet
in our hotel keeps cutting out on me. I have not been able to post anything
until now. More stories to come of our adventures as the internet permits.
